It's the new style!

So here's the new layout. Joo likey? Eh? Me likey.

Not a whole lot going on today. Homework isn't really too bad right now. Calc isn't as tough as I'd thought it was gonna be. COBOL is still kinda dead, we just now got our first programming assignment and it was just to copy this other program down to get the hang of things. C++ is still interesting, I love using this old school UNIX interface, and it's cool to work out these big long problems, then figure out how to make it code, then to make it work. Theater still sucks. A real sleeper.

Been playing Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick lately. They did better with this one than the last one. It's still THQ, so it's not the top quality you might expect from say, Rockstar, or Squaresoft, or even Capcom in those Resident Evil remakes. But it gets the job done. Bruce Campbell returns as the voice of Ash, word up. And in this game you find out his name is Ashley Ashleys. Yyyyeah. The spell system is sorta cool, it works better than I'd expected it to. The posession spells are great, Ash turns into a little glowing green ball and starts flying and screaming like the "evil-cam" in the movies. Eee! The combat system could really stand to be tweaked. Two ideas I could see happening? One, the lock-on should allow you to use your hand-weapon in the direction locked, as it does with your projectile weapons. Like, let you backhand your chainsaw at someone behind you you're locked onto. The other idea, could be inspired from Ratchet & Clank. In that one when you're doing a double/triple-tap swing combo, if you press a direction while swinging he'll turn and aim his swing that way. So if you're surrounded and you want to swing at something in front of you then behind you, you just press the direction opposite you're facing, and he spins around in a wide swing. In ED, you have to stop the combo, turn the direction you need to attack, then start again. You get hit while doing this. But after you get used to the quirks, it's kind of a cool game. I should go to bed, I gotta get up at 10.
